Disney's Festival of the Masters 2013

For this festival I decided to recreate a piece by Marina Dieul, who was nice enough to give me permission to do so! Super Excited, this will be my first time doing a piece from a living master!

Clearwater Beach Chalk Art Festival

I had a great time at Clearwater this past weekend, Oct 25-27. Their surface is one of the best and they treat their artists great! This was my first time here, but it won't be my last. I decided to go with a smaller piece because I knew my time was limited (I was a last minute participant), but it worked out good because I was able to assist some of my art friends.

This is Charfade's beautiful original piece, she won best of show! Check out that beautiful sky/water, curtsy of yours truly, haha :)

Disney's "Limited Time Magic"

My piece for the "Limited Time Magic" in Downtown Disney in Orlando, FL (October 4 - 6 2013). I finished just in time, I came down with the flu shortly after getting home, I could literally feel myself getting sicker as I drove home. Feeling better now though, and had a great time chalking with everyone.

Marietta Chalk Festival

I had a great time at the Marietta Chalk festival on August 30-September 1st. There was a selection of featured artists who each did a  10x10 square and an additional street of beginning artists on another block. I went with the 150th Civil War Anniversary themed and did a compilation piece which took me about 10 hours split between Saturday and Sunday. "Our Banner in the Sky" painted by Frederic Edwin Church in 1861 and "Warrenton, Virginia. Lieutenant Colonel A.V. Colburn" created in 1862 by Gardner, Alexander.

About half an hour after I finished on Sunday the rain came, leaving a ghost like image.

What is the difference in becoming a chalk sponsor?
Well, nothing changes (you still pick a regular patron category) except that your donation will be set aside specifically for this part of the festival. As an added "thank you", your business will be paired with a professional artist and its name will be featured above their piece. This way, as views engage and photograph the artist at work, you receive additional recognition. So, when you send in the form please make a note that you are donating for the chalk portion.

What will these funds be used for?

I am raising money to help draw in the best Florida street artists. Because this is a performance art, nothing is sold. The artists travel and create simply for the love of the art form. So, to thank them (and help draw them in) I am fundraising for awards and art supply's. Also, ArtWorks is a 501 (c) 3 Federal Tax Exempt Public Charity. Contributions to ArtWorks are tax deductible.

Off Season

Summer time is a little too hot to just go running around Florida chalking in the heat all day – so I did a few “non-street art” chalk work to fill in the space.

My first test on hard board, framed and still looking for a home...

Then later I did this at First Friday and raffled it to raise money for Art Works...
