Vero Chalk Festival

It was great seeing everyone at Vero today! I had a few people tell me they were going to email me pictures so hopefully I will get a better shot soon :)

For those that don't know, this chalk festival was to benefit the 180 SunUp/ARC individuals with developmental disabilities who require extraordinary medical, dental and eye care. Proceeds with be used to fund exams and specialized equpment, including oral sedation dentistry equipment.
So THANK YOU to everyone who came out!

Just got home! Sarasota Chalk Festival

Just got back from an amazing few days in Sarasota!

12x12, about 23 hours
I was fortunate to have a lovely spot that had a shadow cast on it via a tent, unfortunately this means that a good photo of my piece can't be taken until 5:30ish tonight or tomorrow morning. So thank you to all of my fellow chalk artists for taking pictures after I had to leave!

The festival itself was great, met alot of amazing artists and saw alot of beautiful work! Thank you to all of the patrons and sponsors who donated and came out, because without you none of us would be here and I hope to be back next year :)

Leesburg

I had a great time at Saturday's festival in Leesburg. I recreated a picture of my Dad and his new wife from their wedding, and even got some pink in there for breast cancer month!

Circus City USA!

I am so excited I can hardly contain myself! This year I will be participating in the
Sarasota Chalk Festival!

I will be there from Nov 2-Nov 6, although the festival itself starts off on Oct 28th. I will be surrounded by some of the most talented artist in the industry, I am especially excited to see all of those 3D pieces that you have only ever seen in chain emails! There is also going to be tons of awesome circus themed performances, so check it out!

Blast from the past!

While looking through my old external hard drive I found this picture of one of my very first chalk pieces in progress!

Every year Palm Bay High School hosted a chalk competition in its common area for students. Sure, we mostly did it to get out of class, but it still inspired a good portion of the entire student body to unleash their inner artist. The undefeated Chelsey&Chelsea group did fairy themes all 3 years we participated together, I think this is circa 2004. Look how skinny I was! Ah, the good old days :)

International Street Painting Society

I just recently joined the International Street Painting Society!

They are "...a totally new organization, which will focus on connecting street painters worldwide. There are other local or national organizations, both for chalk artists and general artists, but this non profit 501(3)(c) group will focus on street artists (which can include chalk & paint, traditional and 3D). We hope to elevate awareness and educate the public, on an international scale, about street painting"
